I feel like I have a post on this somewhere already. Anyway, here’s the story behind “jessicaeasteregg.” This is going to be dumb because I remember it so well. I’M LAME.
During freshman year of high school, I sat behind this one (really cute) guy in US History class (and I may or may not have liked him). He, along with the two other guys who sat next to us, liked to make fun of me and also tried giving me ridiculous nicknames throughout the year. One day in class, we were doing some work to turn in, and he took my extra paper to write a note to me. He was trying to write my full name, but had only kind of heard my last name before, so he tried to spell it out and was failing. Instead of sounding it out or finding out what my last name really was, he just crossed it out and wrote “Jessica Easteregg.”
Since that day, this guy and the other two always made a point to call me “easteregg” or use that nickname instead of my actual last name. It’s stuck since then because of it’s sentimental value. Also it’s kind of catchy, even though it doesn’t sound like my last name at all. I use it for almost all my screen names and things of that nature.
The cooler part of this story is that this guy still goes to Tech (and he’s still cute). We see each other randomly on campus and whenever we happen to cross paths, he still likes to use this nickname. :)
